TRUE COST OF THE FAST FASHION.

FAST FASHION:

Fast fashion which I have already explained in my earlier blog, is the term used to describe clothing designs that move quickly from the catwalk to the stores to meet new trends. Innovation in the supply chain makes this fast fashion possible.

Now lets talk about WHAT ARE THE PROBLEMS CAUSED DUE TO FAST FASHION :

According to the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE), an average consumer now buys 60% more items of clothing compared to 2000, but keeps each garment not more than half a year. Almost 60% of the clothes end up in the landfill within the first year of their production and above all these still there are 40% of the clothes which remains in our wardrobe which are never worn. Now I am going to share a video with you guys which will give a clear idea of what's happening in the world. So do watch the video guys.

As we all know that the growing fashion industry has become the most polluting one. As shown in the video every year around 80 billion items are manufactured and most of the clothes end up in the landfill. This fast fashion allows the consumer to buy more often but thy wear those garments less often and dispose them at an early stage. SAVANNA RAGS is a clothes recycling pant which collects the discarded clothes from the recycle bins and they just collect 25% from all over the country that means there are so many more discarded clothes. Clothes have become the fastest growing waste in the world which if not taken care will lead to destruction and if not taken care at this stage then there will not be any solutions in our near future. Due to the fast fashion the quality of clothes has become low which when discarded need more process to get a quality which can be wearable. Adapting slow fashion or instead of buying clothes more often we can go for rented clothes by which we can follow the trend as well as decrease the fast fashion and the clothes which we wear can be worn by others too. This is what RENT THE RUNWAY does but still only 20% of the clothes are worn, the main objective of them is to change the relation of the consumers with their clothes and instead of throwing their clothes rent them so that others can also wear it. We as a teenage can also see our wardrobe flooded with so many clothes which are not worn by us anymore or are still new in our collection but still we go on buying clothes just because we  want them in our closet and to match with the trend.

So guys its high time now to think on this matter and make everyone aware of the fact that fast fashion and following the trend is effecting the environment so bad that if nothing is done as early as possible then we won't be able to do anything even in our future. Its all up to us either we make it or ruin it.
