MINIMALISM- NEEDS VS WANTS
MINIMALISM
Minimalism is a style in which a small number of very simple things are used to create a particular effect. This includes less financial burdens such as debt and unnecessary expenses. It is where we live with less than 100 items in the whole world. It basically is living with the only minimum stuffs which we need and not what we want.

So in this videos SAM HARRIS said that " but then a new version comes out and now you no longer care about the one you have is a source of dissatisfaction." This line basically says that we no longer care for the stuffs which we have when a new product or new version or it launches. So its not about consumption but the problem is compulsory consumption. Why don't we buy stuffs which we really need the most? It's just because we look at the stuff we find it fascinating or cheap or trendy and then buy it and then keep it aside without using it properly. It's not about getting rid of our own stuffs but it's about getting control over it.
Remember YOU ARE NOT GOING TO BE HAPPIER BY CONSUMING MORE.
